MIKE SHINODA – LINKIN PARK’S EXPLOSIVE MC, BAND MEMBER, AND CO-FRONTMAN – INITIATES TWO TRACKS AHEAD OF HIS “POST TRAUMATIC” LP – A MUSICAL JOURNEY INSPIRED BY THE LATE CHESTER BENNINGTON. BY STICK N’ MOVE / SHADOWBOX MVMNT.
If you were, or are, currently a dedicated Linkin Park fanatic, (i.e. whose hoarded all releases including studio recordings, live sets, collabs, bootlegs, Live 105.3 morning mix cassette records, and so forth, and essentially memorized at least every word of 5-10 singles that came to surface since the late 90’s / early 2k) a new project is dropping by one of LP’S primary band members. Shall we call this an extension from one of his existing projects? Maybe a fresh angle for the time being? How about an escape well deserved….the reasoning is not our business, our practicum behind this publication is to state that powerhouse Vocalist and MC Mike Shinoda is starting to turn a few heads while dropping new solo joints as of the recent. Amidst the emotional grim circumstances and tough adjustments surrounding the bands split and tough battle for clarity after facing the tragic loss their mate and band leader Chester Bennington, whom tragically left us early to start a new journey, not so long ago.
Through various readings and engagements of recent research reports outside of our internal resourcing, this piece has been immensely challenging, simply because My thought process is tangled in my admiration for this crew, my draft writing results equal despair. As I read between lines and jump through selective lyrics, appearing at all angles is the trace of seldom and factual evidence, that losing Chester Bennington to the misunderstood act of Suicide, has hit Mike Shinoda beyond the ability of human compression and cure that can (unmanly occasions) work through spiritual power, physical wealth, and brain activity to help our wounds mend rapidly and somewhat peacefully. Its funny how growth from childhood to adolescence and then adulthood dictates a shift in our abilities to heal from certain fashions of emotional blow and psychological impact .
After conducting my research analyses, I was full of thought, but empty at the core. The frequent thrill of charging through an article and pressing on to publish after establishing that the backbone and theme driven storylines that remained unified, and on point. My mentality took a halt, and I remained centralized on the depths, melancholy began to take over. I despised wounds of this nature, as their ability to run deep after emotional turmoil of this manner. Point blank, As stated frequently by Mr. Shinoda, Chester Bennington was his best friend, whom departed this life unannounced, trailing no sense of obscurity, but just the essence of uncertainty surrounded by the notion of a hopeful option or comforting sense of rational that could (or could have not) imposed a chance to possibly save a life. Please never place blame in any direction as a result of suicide, the aftermath will permit stints of frustration, and slowly episodes of grasp can take effect.
To conclude on that note, respectfully shifting literary gears, due diligence covered before developing this artistic update and news piece, Shadowbox MVMNT, an affiliate operation of the Shadowbox Corporation sincerely and openly respects a key decision requested on behalf of Mr. Shinoda, which clearly rejects and refuses to disclose and/or discuss any, and all, information regarding the status the band Linking Park, and will not entertain or discuss matters pertinent to the bands current/future plans. As fans and community members whom have lost loved ones to Suicide, we can appreciate that this is trying on any level, and we will support the stance imposed by the band (150%) until further notice.
In order to approach the grieving process, while respectfuly update our readers on newmusic coming out out by Mike Shinoda , surrounded by internal crisis and complexity that remained filled with interventions yet to be understood, this timeless originator; (Please note: Mr. Shinoda founded of the impressive / alternative metal-rap crew Fort Minor, along with the Record Label Machine Shop, amongst other impressive endeavors via interactive media, music, and so forth); manifested an exemplary project out of the depths of disengagement and distress. To rise above in a brave manner such as this deserves ongoing recognition.
MIKE SHINODA STEPPED INTO THE STUDIO DAYS AFTER LOSING HIS BEST FRIEND AND BAND MATE. HE HAS THE CONSISTENT ABILITY TO ELOQUENTLY CRUSH THE MIC, SPITTING FIRE IN A RUGGED, RAW, RARE, AND MENTALLY REHEARSED FASHION PER THE DESIRED TEMPO LIKE ALWAYS; YET, AT MOMENTS LIKE THIS, SOMETIME TOO COMPLEX TO NAVIGATE YOUR OWN LANE – THE SOUND AND STYLE MUSIC PROVIDES OFFERS ITS ABILITY TO SEEK YOU – AS YOU SEEK IT (SHADOWBOX MVMNT 2019).
The courage he’s displayed alone, even making it to the studio to begin with, inspires us to support this solo project. If you listen carefully, you can hear the sound of creation sparked though an imaginative state of trance and isolation which in turn relays the power of electrified resolution, resulting in yet another display of true talent and calculated genius by this figure whom continues to impress while opening up a new inventive space by which permits this collection to preach volume of intensity and raw aggression, by which allow all of us to exercise freedom to create, and nobly crush the limits that block our own self’s ability to mourn and heal with dignity and determination to rise another day.
Mike Shinoda has dedicated this artistic endeavor to his bandmate and brother, with the intent for this album to be a “journey out of grief and darkness” and “not into grief and darkness”. His stylistic and edgy demeanor embraces the dark side behind loss with an open heart, while depicting the raw emotion triggered by unscripted tragedy that shines prevalence through trauma and shock. Within his solo project, opposition plays a role as this artist organically vocalizes the critical nature of healing through the the unyielding experiences life can deliver without warning. We have offered two released videos (Courtesy Youtube / Warner Bros) as our dedication to Linking Park and Mike Shinoda simply will never fade.
Stamped with a signature style that is rebellious, daring, and fueled with poetic anguish, this solo Rap experience shines with metrical verse and lyrical vision. With a new set of tracks going live on this forthcoming release, Mr. Shinoda remains transparent when warning his fans that many of the songs may be ”are hard to listen to” while leaving a universal door wide open, by which the opportunity to stand in preparation and harmonically mourn and celebrate alongside this rock star is available without condition.
Below we offer videos / tracks for: Crossing a Line, Nothing Makes Sense Anymore, and Watching as I Fall, all by Mr. Shinoda himself.
